The Virginia Film Festival will once again give audiences a chance to see some of the most anticipated films of the festival season before they hit theaters or streaming services. Last year alone the VAFF featured the U.S. Premiere of Ava DuVernay’s acclaimed film Origin in addition to Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, and the stirring documentary American Symphony, among others.

2. Guest Lists

From the Hollywood’s hottest stars to exciting new discoveries, and leading cultural experts, the guest lists at the Virginia Film Festival consistently inform, engage and delight audiences. In 2023, the VAFF welcomed Oscar and Grammy-winning recording artist and performer Jon Batiste, as well as groundbreaking writer/director Ava DuVernay.

4. Reel Talk

Every year the Virginia Film Festival takes audiences beyond the screen with fascinating discussions around the films and the wide range of topical issues they cover, as well as engaging panel discussions from industry leaders. Featuring actors, filmmakers, and subject area experts from throughout the University of Virginia and beyond, VAFF discussions are an annual highlight!
