Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is unique among the growing number of fine wineries along Virginia’s Monticello Wine Trail. They not only create distinguished boutique wines, Pippin Hill’s Tasting Room pairs them with some of the most elevated cuisines you’ll find in these gentle hills. Local, fresh, seasonal, from vineyard and garden-to-table is how they do things, and always with Pippin Hill’s welcoming sense of relaxed elegance. It’s a collaborative effort between the head gardener and the executive chef. For inspiration, the culinary team looks to the garden right outside the kitchen door. The vineyard’s location allows them to grow the region’s best grapes, just as the open-air dining venue is designed to look over the hills of the vineyards.
The Tasting Room and wine pairing menu is central to the Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards experience. Guests are welcome to enjoy estate wines while savoring Virginia’s most exciting cuisine (and view). From seasonal burrata to Pippin Hill’s local beef sliders, their culinary team highlights the freshest ingredients from local farms, including their own Chef’s Garden, with seasonal menus that showcase their wines.
Pippin Hill's vineyard and surrounding gardens are part of Bundoran Farms, a sustainable agricultural community that honors the rural countryside. The vineyard, situated on the southern-facing hillside, is blessed with ideal soils and a climate suited to their varietals. In addition to varietals including Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Petit Verdot grown on-site, Pippin Hill's 16-acre off-site vineyard plot, Clovergreen, is home to Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Viognier and Petit Manseng varietals.
Pippin Hill is committed to protecting and preserving the rural agrarian health and beauty of their vineyard and farm environs. They proactively embrace and follow environmentally sound and supportive viticulture practices, minimizing chemical repellents and optimizing natural sprays to keep their vines productive and their land healthy. In an ideal year, they harvest upwards of 64 tons of grapes between their two vineyard sites. Their wines are sold in their on-site Tasting Room and online on their website.
