The PVCC V. Earl Dickinson Building is a 36,000 square foot facility containing classrooms, well-equipped art and design studios, two fine art galleries, the 75-seat Maxwell Black Box Theatre and the 500-seat Main Stage Theatre.
Presenting a rich array of dance, music, theatre and visual arts programming since 1999, the Piedmont Virginia Community College Fine Arts and Performance season offers a high-quality arts experience at free or affordable prices. The season generally begins in September and runs through April.
PVCC’s North and South Galleries showcase local, regional and student artists through rotating exhibits. In addition, the gallery presents artist workshops and the annual “Let There Be Light” winter solstice celebration. PVCC’s Student Art Club hosts the well-attended free monthly film series. PVCC’s Theatre Department presents two major productions each season and hosts an eclectic series of free monthly workshops.
