My life setting is my inspiration. The studio & horse farm are at the foot of Southwestern Mountains in NE Albemarle . The road to the studio is the same one traveled by Jefferson to meet with his friend Madison. I have always been drawn to the power of the mountains & the drama of the changing seasons. As I travel through life the simple things like fields & forests evoke breathtaking beauty. My pieces reveal the power of the sun,the forces of the wind, the falling rain, and time as I see it in nature . The common thread throughout the work is motion,change, and the passage of time. A visit to the studio location provides the opportunity to experience where the work is inspired.

When visiting Virginia Clay studio, visitors will receive latest offerings from the garden, currently Swiss chard but offerings change weekly.
