Rucha Shevade is a visual artist based in Central Virginia. She specializes in Mandala design. "This art form is like a deep meditative practice that rejuvenates my soul and helps my creativity blossom." Rucha's art is inspired by nature's elegant patterns and vibrant colors. She tries to create a unique interplay of symmetry and intricacy.
Rucha loves to vary the medium. "Be it a traditional or digital medium, I find that Mandala art is very versatile. Most of my work uses ink on paper, but I enjoy experimenting with different mediums such as watercolors, gouache and acrylics."
Rucha's art will be on display in FIREFLY's bar area during November & December and she will have originals and prints for sale.
Bernie McCabe is a contemporary maze artist who lives and works in Charlottesville, VA. "Maze Artist" is McCabe's preferred title as everything he makes is a fully solvable, start-to-finish maze. His mazes can be found on canvas, wood, T-shirts, skateboards, shoes, buildings, parking lots, and in museums.
Bernie is drawn to mazes for their complexity and for their ability to visually mirror the feeling of being lost with so many directions to choose from. He presents life as a maze that needs to be navigated as the main theme in his work, whether that be navigating an existential crisis, navigating pop culture, or navigating the nuances of love.
Bernie's art will be on display in FIREFLY's dining room during November & December and he will have originals and prints for sale.
