Join us for a nature walk on Saturday, November 23, 10-12pm. Tom Wyatt of Sancta Natura, a project created to sponsor free nature education will be our guide!

Take a lovely walk through Oakencroft's beautiful farm while Tom helps identify some of the hundreds of bird species who have made Oakencroft their home. We will travel on trail and road along field and forest edge, learning about the flora and fauna we encounter.

In late summer, we may get to see and hear some of the following: resident breeding migrants, such as Indigo Buntings, Blue Grosbeaks, Scarlet and Summer Tanagers, Common Yellowthroats, Red-eyed and Yellow-throated Vireos, Eastern Wood-pewees, Great crested and Acadian Flycatchers, and others, as well as some of our common year-round species.

This walk is for adults and kids 14+ that can handle a one mile loop over two hours around the property. Tom will have a spotting scope to put stationary birds in focus, and we will learn about other animals we see, and several important plants found in central Virginia.

Included in your ticket is a flight of Oakencroft wine, you can enjoy in our Tasting Room after the walk!
