How do architecture and civic planning influence our societal expectations around aging? What kinds of design would lead to more livable communities? Abby Fifer Mandell, senior lecturer in entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California and visiting scholar at the University of Virginia School of Medicine will facilitate a conversation with Jessica Ellen Sewell, PhD, and Andrew Mondschein, PhD, associate professors of urban and environmental planning at the UVA School of Architecture. Join us for conversation on the built environment and how urban, suburban and transit design reflect and express ideas about aging, vitality and disability. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to all.
