This free, day-long symposium invites scholars, students, and the public to learn from and be in conversation with Indigenous experts in ecology, technology, and governance to better understand the practice and potential of place-based problem-solving in contemporary Indigenous communities across city, state, federal, and Tribal borders. Featured speakers come from the US-Mexico border, US-Canada border, and central Virginia: Jacelle Ramón Sauberan (Tohono O'odham), Karen Diver (Fond Du Lac Band of Chippewa), and Chief Diane Shields (Monacan Nation). The panel discussion is followed by a free public reception, by Avocado Catering.
