Getting to Know and Maintain your Machine

Have you bought or inherited a sewing machine, and are now wondering how to use it? Join me for this orientation to sewing machines and how to maintain them. Bring your own machine (including the foot pedal and power cord) and machine instruction manual to class, and we'll walk through the basic steps to get you sewing. These steps will include how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin and sew with a straight and zig zag stitch. We will also discuss types of fabric, threads and needles. If you don't have a manual, search for one on-line. We will also demonstrate routine sewing machine maintenance (cleaning and oiling the machine) to keep it in top working condition.
