Berlin-based architect Gustav Düsing, co-recipient of the 2024 EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards (EUmies), will visit the UVA School of Architecture as the inaugural EUmies Awardee Distinguished Lecturer. This lecture marks the launch of an exciting new partnership with Fundació Mies van der Rohe, aimed at advancing architectural excellence through collaborative programs between our institutions.
Düsing and collaborator Max Hacke, is the youngest team to receive the EUmies Award. Their award-winning study pavilion at Braunschweig Technical University in Germany exemplifies "design for disassembly," allowing the structure to be fully dismantled, recycled, and reassembled in new forms and
locations-an inspiring model of eco-minimalist and sustainable architecture.
