"2nd Annual Indie short Film Festival Returns to Charlottesville: Bigger and Better Than Ever!"

Charlottesville, VA – July 29, 2024 – After the tremendous success of its inaugural event, the Indie Short Film Festival is thrilled to announce its 2nd Annual celebration of independent cinema, set to take place from March 21-23, 2025, in the vibrant city of Charlottesville, Virginia. Building on the excitement of last year's festival, this year's event promises an even more dynamic lineup of films, workshops, and engaging activities.

Last year's festival captivated audiences with 74 extraordinary short films, drawing filmmakers and film enthusiasts from across the country. With up to 3000 miles traveled to participate, the festival proved to be a significant event on the indie film circuit. Attendees enjoyed a memorable launch party, enlightening panel discussions, a Sunday Brunch Awards ceremony, a screenwriting competition, and insightful table reads, all spread across five distinctive venues located on and off the downtown mall.

The 2025 festival is set to elevate the experience with the addition of up to 80 short films, showcasing a diverse range of innovative storytelling and cinematic artistry. This year's program will again feature the popular launch party, thought-provoking panel discussions, and the coveted Sunday Brunch Awards. In response to feedback and growing interest, the festival is excited to introduce a new highlight: a Cinematography Workshop led by a highly acclaimed cinematographer. This workshop will offer participants an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insights into the art of cinematography from a leading industry professional.

"We are ecstatic to bring back the Indie Short Film Festival for its second year," said Festival Director, Ty Cooper. "Last year's festival was a remarkable success, and we're eager to build on that momentum. With the addition of the Cinematography Workshop and an expanded selection of films, this year's festival will offer even more for filmmakers and audiences alike. Charlottesville's unique charm and vibrant arts scene provide the perfect backdrop for this celebration of independent cinema."
