Marinus Vineyard Concerts (formerly Marinus in the Vineyard) welcomes the TexasCello Quartet to kick off our 2024 season. Four renowned cellists, who on other nights might be playing at New York's Lincoln Center or the Kennedy Center, are joining forces to play a delightful collection of repertoire that journeys through the Renaissance and Classical, reaching not only to the romantic literature of Schubert's Erlkönig and Elgar's nostalgic Nimrod Variations, but beyond the classical tradition with Radiohead's Karma Police and Mancini's Moon River.

MVC brings together stellar classical musicians from around the country to put on concerts twice a year. We're based at King Family Vineyards in Crozet, and our goal is to create what we call a 'concert experience' that makes classical chamber music accessible and available to music lovers and newcomers alike. The audience is invited to come early to socialize over a picnic and glass of wine on the vineyard grounds, and then gather in the carriage house for 60-minute concert. With a capacity of only 200 seats, the listeners are invited to essentially be 'on stage' with the artists, to hear their breathing and read the music over their shoulders. It's a chance to not only hear, but participate and come together as a community to listen together.
