Join Susan Munson, Holly Renee Allen, Molly Murphy, and Blair Jones-for Neon Angels, an intimate "singers in the round" showcase. Together, they'll share their original songs and the personal stories behind them in a night of raw, heartfelt music.
Blair Logwood Jones, a Virginia native, has been living her musical dream as a composer, teacher, director, and performer in Charlottesville since 1980. Her latest album, Newborn Child, draws on her love of Appalachian ballads, creating songs with timeless resonance sung in a voice as true and earthy as the mountains that inspire her. Susan Munson, a Charlottesville-based singer-songwriter and rock 'n' roller, writes songs she hears on the wind and in her soul-songs that demand to be shared. Her bluesy, fun style blends with country influences, evoking the soul of Emmylou Harris and the prose of John Prine.Susan has released two albums, Promise on the Moonrise and Halfway to Anywhere, and is working on new projects. She also performs with Mojo Pie, Mama Tried, and Alligator. Holly Renee Allen, raised at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, embodies the Red Dirt and Appalachian soul of her roots. From a family of country and bluegrass musicians, her songwriting is rich and heartfelt. After touring extensively in the Southeast, she's now back in the Shenandoah Valley, performing with The Road Dawgs and writing songs inspired by her hometown. Molly Murphy is a powerhouse performer and a member of the genre-bending Americana band The Judy Chops. Drawing on her deep musical roots, Molly crafts evocative songs that blend introspection with vibrant melodies. In addition to performing, she teaches at The Front Porch in Charlottesville and owns Queen City Music Studios in Staunton, VA. Molly's passion for music shines in every facet of her career, inspiring audiences and students alike.
