The Stage at WTJU

2244 Ivy Road
Charlottesville, VA 22903

The Strong 7s will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, July 19, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU. This Western Swing band is riding into town as the penultimate stop on a short EP release tour.

This is a free event, open to all. You can also listen to Offbeat Roadhouse on the radio (91.1 FM) or on-line, and even video stream it at WTJU's Facebook page or YouTube channel. But concerts always sound better with you as part of the studio audience. WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Rd in Charlottesville, right next door to Vivace. There is plenty of parking, both in our lot as well as the Sentara lot next door.

Offbeat Roadhouse is supported locally by Ting – lightning-fast fiber internet for your home and business. Learn more at tinginternet.com/wtju. Use promo code WTJU at checkout for a free month and $100 gift certificate.

The Strong 7s are led by Andrew Backer and Nick Saia, two guitarists who have been working and writing together steadily and in several different projects since 2012. In the past 12 years, you may have heard them busking or gigging in New York, Memphis, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Baltimore, or Gorham, New Hampshire. The most recent iteration of their collaboration is an electric blues and swing band, primarily featuring Andrew's original music. On bass and drums are Dave Strawn and Asher Herzog, two heavyweights of the New York scene. These songs have been said to make listeners dance, make them cry, kiss, drink and hopefully, come out to all the shows.
