From all points on the political spectrum come concerns about the future of democracy at home and abroad. What exactly is "democracy"? What are its origins? How has it evolved? Is it the same as a "republic"? Winston Churchill declared that "it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except for all those other forms that have been tried..." Was he right?
