Randy Seelye is an Irish Uillean Pipe player living in the Charlottesville Area. He led the team that developed and implemented the Uilleann Piping Program for The Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS) located in Charlottesville. He is currently coordinating the BRIMS Uilleann Piping Program which includes: Teaching regular uilleann piping classes for adult and youth beginner and intermediate pipers; Planning weekend Piping Workshops for the Mid-Atlantic Region; Running " Piping Days Events " for local uilleann pipers to come together and share techniques and tunes; Coordinating the " Try The Pipes Program " – a Free program for anyone wanting to try their hands at uilleann pipes; and participating in various Community Events - sharing the beauty and sound of the Uilleann Pipes. He started playing the pipes after he retired from the UVA Homecare division as a Senior Physical Therapist. His specialty was Neurologic Rehab and he was a certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist. He has studied uilleann pipes with Michael Roddy, Cillian Vallely, and Nick Whitmer. He has attended the Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy Summer Music School in Miltown Malbay, County Clare Ireland multiple times as well as other Piping Tíonol's and workshops. He plays both Concert and Flat pipes. While none of his children play the pipes, he has six young grandchildren that will hopefully be pipers one day.
