About the musician

Ty Burkhardt is a percussive fingerstyle guitarist from Richmond who started playing restaurants at only 16 years old. Since then, he has played at over 50 venues, graduated from the UVA music program, and released his first acoustic single "One Small Step" with plans for an album in mid-2025. Common House discussed his playing style in their newsletter: "...Ty Burkhardt, a master of fingerstyle guitar whose technique transforms a single instrument into a full-band experience. With a repertoire spanning '80s classics to modern fingerstyle pieces by Andy McKee, Calum Graham, and Antoine Dufour, his percussive, multi-part playing creates a rich, immersive soundscape." Ty has also been featured at the Hops in the Park festival, the historic Miller's Downtown, The Garage, and on WTJU radio.
