Wine Tasting : The Midi

The Midi.... a thousand years ago locals of this Southern France zone prized their rosé wines. Since then, the region has developed into a land of olive tree groves, famous soap-making, and bold, ripe red wines. And, of course, the historic rosé of centuries goneby is still famous, too. ⁠

In the mid 1900s, railways arrived to the Midi and helped create a market in Paris and other cities for the tasty wines of Southern France. But as recently as the early 2000s the region still struggled with export markets, and The Midi set up wine embassys in various cities to share their vinous spoils with the world. The effort seems to have worked! Today, you'll find Midi wines on most wine lists in our area. ⁠
