Widespread closures threaten the very existence of live theater in America. A traditional career as an opera singer seems less and less viable. And yet: despite a system stacked against them, young singers continue to follow their calling, putting it all on the line to gain entry into fiercely competitive apprenticeship programs.

In VHO's new documentary film, an open casting call found 5 of the nation's most compelling Young Artists, sharing their true stories with unprecedented access over the course of a year. What is driving their ambition? Who will "make it"? And what does success even mean to the next generation? YAPs follows the cast on their path through young adulthood: claiming their artistic identity; full of grit, ambition, disappointment, and hope, armed only with their sense of destiny and their need to sing.

Screening is followed by a Q & A with the creators.

VIP ticket includes free popcorn and post-show reception with the artists.
